SSI is committed to encouraging maximum participation of disadvantaged communities in the design, construction and maintenance of transport infrastructure projects. We regard the provision of infrastructure as an opportunity to create jobs, particularly in rural areas where the unemployment is extensive. We pursue social upliftment initiatives in collaboration with clients and wherever possible, introducing training and mentoring activities to ensure that these programmes are sustainable. The transport unit provides consulting services for municipal infrastructure, labour intensive construction, community driven, paved and unpaved road maintenance.
