Geometric design

Authorities are increasingly shifting their emphasis from road alignment safety and economic designs to requiring environmental impacts, socio-economic impacts and proof that roads will be constructed using labour intensive construction methods, in line with the Expanded Public Works Program (EPWP). SSI’s geometric designers are committed to adhering to the requirements of these authorities and we have introduced a specialist service to assist clients in the field of geometric design of roads and railway.  The services we offer in this arena can be combined into a comprehensive project, or implemented on a menu basis — or individually — to suit clients’ needs. Dave has 33 years of experience in his field, embracing geometric design, contract documentation and site supervision. Vuyiso Msipa is a registered engineer, an Associate with SSI and an Office Manager at the SSI Germiston Office in Ekurhuleni Metro, South Africa. His experience includes project management, geometric design, contract documentation and construction supervision of projects. He has been involved in international projects located in countries like Swaziland, Zimbabwe and Mozambique, as well as in South Africa.
